WHS is a critical issue for any business, small or large. All occupational risks must be managed to warrant the health and safety of workers and other people affected by the conduct of the business. This includes visitors and customers at a workplace. Employers must have staff that are in control of WHS in their organisation or business.

With statistics alarming as they are, it is obvious why WHS roles are so important to Australia; especially if we are to meet the national target of reducing:
• incidence of serious injury by at least 30% nationwide by 2022
• number of work-related fatalities due to injury by at least 20%.
WHS roles provide a broad range of technical knowledge and skills and these apply to those working as supervisors, WHS personnel, and workers in other WHS-related roles who manage risks effectively, apply relevant WHS laws, and contribute to WHS within the workplace.

• BSBWHS412: Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
• BSBWHS413: Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
• BSBWHS414: Contribute to WHS risk management
• BSBWHS415: Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
• BSBWHS416: Contribute to workplace incident response
