Update from Managing Director

It’s remarkable to look back on what we’ve accomplished in just two short months. We began with a milestone moment in India, signing a new partnership with ISH to launch our inaugural Commercial Cookery program. From there, we travelled to the Philippines to celebrate our very first graduation at our Laoag campus—a moment of immense pride for everyone involved.

Back in Australia, we finalised strategic partnerships with APCA in Malaysia and SHINEE in Bangladesh, expanding our international footprint in the commercial cookery space. At the same time, we’ve doubled our high school student intake—a clear indication of growing trust in the quality of our programs.

These achievements are a reflection of the unwavering dedication of our team, whose commitment to student outcomes, customer service, and high-quality training resources continues to set us apart.

Among the most inspiring outcomes has been the success of our aged care graduates. Six of our international students have now transitioned into their careers in Australia under the 482 visa program—a testament to their dedication, perseverance, and the exceptional support of our trainers. Watching a student return to campus, beaming with the news that their hard work has led to a visa grant and a new chapter in their professional journey, is truly one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

We’re also proud to see graduates from Papua New Guinea offered roles in Alice Springs—with one visa already approved—and several others from India set to follow. An additional 20 graduates from India are currently awaiting visa approval, with their future employer eagerly anticipating their arrival. These are the stories that truly affirm the value and impact of the work we do.

Yet, despite these wins, the current visa environment remains incredibly difficult. Whether it’s student or skilled migration pathways, delays and uncertainty continue to take a toll. For many of our graduates, waiting for a visa decision is an emotional rollercoaster—what feels like a short delay in the system feels like a lifetime to them.

One student attended class diligently for six months, only to be told that their visa had been denied on the grounds of not being a “genuine student”—a decision that now requires a $6,000 appeal. It’s heartbreaking, and unfortunately, not uncommon.

It’s crucial that our government—whichever party forms the next one—recognises the importance of international students and workers in shaping Australia’s future. We are a proudly multicultural nation, yet these individuals are often made to feel like their contributions are unwelcome.

They do not burden our systems. Most live in shared housing or homestays, often supporting local families. They enrich our communities, fill critical workforce gaps, and bring fresh energy and diversity to our country.

It’s time for a more compassionate, forward-thinking approach to international education and skilled migration—one that sees these students and workers not as numbers, but as the future of our shared success.

And despite the challenges, we remain hopeful. Because every story of success, every visa granted, and every life changed fuels our mission. The journey isn’t easy—but it’s absolutely worth it.
