Mary has over twenty-five years’ experience in the education sector. She is brilliant at training, instructional design and compliance. Mary holds many qualifications spanning 20 years, but most recently has completed the Diploma of Training Design and Development, Diploma of Leadership & Management, Certificate IV in Career Development, and Diploma of Vocational Training and Assessment. Other certificate level qualifications and training experience covers hospitality, retail, frontline management, Responsible Gambling Services, First Aid, Responsible Serving of Alcohol, JP, tourism, project management, events, and LLN. In Mary’s own words:

I didn’t know what I wanted to do when I left school; except I knew I wanted to help change people’s lives for the better. I have worked in the hospitality, retail, business and employment services industries from entry level to management. I started training while at Mercure group of hotels teaching hospitality skills and quickly found my niche! I have since owned and operated my own training café/training company and managed various projects for both the Federal and State governments; which I wrote Tenders and Grants for and have been successful in winning and proceeding to contract stage and qualifying the policy statement and reporting requirements.  My training company was a 2014 Nominated Finalist for QLD – Mission Australia’s National Small Business Innovation Award.

I am an outgoing happy person and find the right attitude will take you a long way in this world. I also have a massive passion about learning being accessible for everyone. It shouldn’t matter how good you were or were not at school; you should just pick up where you are at in the moment and move forward! Lifelong learning is key!
