OFFSHORE IN-COUNTRY TRAINING

PERSONAL CARE WORKERS: GeSS Education and ADSS operate a workforce-led training model.

Candidates are carefully screened for suitability, English communication, empathy, caring nature, professionalism and readiness for aged and disability care before being accepted into the program. The program is designed to prepare suitable candidates for future employment opportunities with ADSS and approved care partners, subject to course completion, workplace readiness, employer demand, visa eligibility and government requirements.

AGED/DISABILITY CARE and COMMERCIAL COOKERY:

Our offshore in-country training programs have been developed for individuals seeking a practical, workforce-focused pathway into aged care, disability care, health support services or commercial cookery. GeSS Education takes a careful recruitment and selection approach from the beginning, considering each candidate’s suitability for their chosen industry, including communication skills, English capability, attitude, reliability, empathy, caring nature, practical ability and genuine commitment to the work. Through our offshore learning institute partners in Papua New Guinea, India, the Philippines and Nepal, with China coming soon, students complete blended training in their home country using the GeSS LMS, local classroom support, practical skills development and virtual training delivered by Australian trainers. The purpose of this model is to prepare the right people for real workforce opportunities in areas of strong industry need, with selected qualifications delivered by GeSS Education on behalf of our Registered Training Organisation partners under approved third-party arrangements. Employment and deployment opportunities through ADSS, GeSS Education industry partners or approved care and hospitality providers are subject to student suitability, course completion, workplace readiness, employer demand, provider agreements and current government requirements.

NURSE PATHWAY PROGRAM OPPORTUNITY

Our Offshore In-Country Training Program is also available as an ONLINE DELIVERY OPTION to WORKING NURSES (RNs) either in India, Nepal or the Philippines.
Upon online successful completion of CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support*, specialising in Age Care and Disability, working nurses are eligible to apply for a Training Visa (subclass 407) to undertake their work placement onshore, a Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (subclass 482) which now leads to a two-year working pathway to Australian Permanent Residency depending on students nationality, eligibility and availability. GeSS Education in partnership with leading Australian Recruitment Agencies, and multiple Australian Aged Care Provider and Facilities, will work to find you a suitable Australian employer within the aged and/or disability health sector to sponsor you for your Visa. Student selection for this program is based on student behaviour to ensure employability skills are transferable to prospective employers. Students are to apply for this program on completion of their GeSS Education course.
For our Nursing Pathway Program, you must be prepared to undertake the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration process so that you can become an Australian Registered Nurse. Once registration approved you will need to apply for a Skills Assessment Test with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council (ANMAC) which will be conducted in Adelaide, Australia while you are working. If students undertake AHPRA process while in their home country, then students can potentially come over on a subclass 482. If your employer has an Aged Care Labour Agreement with the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs (DHA) then they may bring you over on a subclass 482 visa as a Personal Care Worker while you undertake your AHPRA registration. Some employers will want students to come over under a subclass 407 visa to work for at least 12 months while you undertake the AHPRA process in Australia. In this scenario, students will work as a Personal Care Worker (PCW) until such time as you are an Australian Registered Nurse (RN). Once that occurs the employer can sponsor you for a subclass 482 visa.
(Important: please speak with your Migration Lawyer for updates and further visa information, GeSS Education can put you in touch with our preferred migration lawyers)
Entry Requirements:
• Hold a Bachelor of Science (Nursing) degree or equivalent from your home country
• English language proficiency level of at least IELTS 7.0 or equivalent.
• Registered Nurse Certificate
• Resume
• At least 3 years’ experience as a working Registered Nurse
• Valid passport
• Be willing to undertake the AHPRA registration process
• Applicants are required to be interviewed prior to acceptance into the above course and be willing to undertake a recruitment process that consists of Resume development, interviewing coaching and recorded final interview in preparation for GeSS Education to find you an employer who will sponsor you.
