6-month celebration – GeSS Education Campus

Where has the last 6 months gone!!! I am sure every business owner is thinking that and wondering how the next 6 months will fair. For us at GeSS Education, we celebrated our 6 months since our campus opening with a BBQ celebration on our beautiful balcony overlooking the Broadwater and Marina Mirage. What a magical night. We had a great turn-out and everyone enjoyed the weather, the food, the view and each other’s company. We reminisced about the months spent on building our campus and the unfortunate timing of our launch i.e. within days of COVID-19 affecting not only the world but our much-loved Queensland. But we especially celebrated our growth strategy in response to the pandemic and how we have grown from offering Diploma courses to now include Certificate (government funded) programs and short courses highly sought after by our Job Active and corporate partners. Thank goodness we were online specialists and could diversify very quickly to the environment. GeSS Education now delivers courses for 6 Colleges and is affiliated with 3 more. We have welcomed the Technicolour Theatre Company on to our campus and other exciting developments are underway. We took advantage of the lower cost of advertising and currently have Train advertising, Radio, Cinema, our first TV commercial, and of course the usual social media campaigns running. Even more exciting, we have opened our Student Information Centre on ground level Australia Fair (near JB Hi Fi).

The future is ever so bright for GeSS Education; but this is only due to our brilliant GeSS Education team and our wonderful and loyal partners and associates. The skills our team have is paramount to our success and this is something that future students need to understand. It does not matter if you are not top of the class at High School, or if you have dropped out of higher education, or if you just plainly do not know what you want to do in the future – the skills you gain throughout life-long learning are essential. You just need to keep building your skills – they will be used some time in your future.

Every team requires the collective synergy of people, practical & technical skills. All these skills can be learned. Through our GeSS Education team we have managed to write, contextualise and convert 4 new courses to our GeSS LMS learning management system and another 6 are well underway. This achievement is attributed to the dedication and collective skills of our team PLUS we make sure we have a fun environment in which to work in. We treat this campus and team like our second family, and it is ever so pleasing to see our diversified student cohorts thrive in this environment.  I finished my ‘thank you’ speech the other night, with the following:

The commitment everyone has put into this campus is the reason why it has this beautiful atmosphere AND THAT IS NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THIS VIEW, it is because of the people and the support we have from everyone here.

I can’t wait to hold our 1-year celebration in January 2021!!!!!
