A brewing partnership with Phillip Di Bella
GeSS Education is excited to announce our partnership with The Coffee Commune and Phillip Di Bella, Coffee Empire Entrepreneur, as part of the packaged SIT30622 Certificate III in Hospitality and SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery delivery including additional specialist Barista Training. Graduates of these Offshore In-country Training qualifications are exclusively provided these Intensive Barista Hospitality workshops onshore alongside opportunities for Australian job placement by leveraging GeSS’s partnership with The Coffee Commune and Phillip Di Bella via referral to hospitality employers nationally. Through the Temporary Skill Shortage Visa (Subclass 482), students have the opportunity to secure sponsorship from Australian employers through Chef, Cook and Restaurant Manager positions based on students eligibility and prior experience facilitated by delivery partner GeSS Education.
This is a huge opportunity for our students ensuring a meaningful employment pathway in Australia, with these initiatives specifically addressing labour shortages and plays a pivotal role in the overall strategy of GeSS Education to provide sustainable solutions to workforce challenges.
Who is Phillip Di Bella?
Phillip Di Bella is a highly respected entrepreneur with Di Bella Coffee, his first initial venture, becoming Australia’s largest speciality coffee company before he sold it to Retail Food Group. His entrepreneurial spirit has also brought success to international coffee traders, Abbotsford Road specialty coffee in New York, and The Coffee Commune and further acknowledged through Entrepreneur of the Year awards, customer service awards, business owner awards and he was listed in the 2006, 2007 and 2009 Business Review Weekly Fast 100. He is an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Griffith University and the world’s youngest recipient of the Italian Knighthood, the Order of the Star of Italian Solidarity’. Phillip has also been twice recognised with the Brisbane Lord Mayor’s Corporate Citizenship Award. Phillip dedicates his time to supporting the growth of others, regularly lending his strategic thinking to major consulting groups, helping their clients overcome challenges and see new opportunities. His commitment to coaching and mentoring continues through The Coffee Commune, which is dedicated to the long-term sustainability and success of the coffee industry. Thus, a very valuable hospitality partner that brings knowledge and experience to this unique educational delivery experience.
