Introduction to Occupational Therapy & Medical Terminology

This 6 week online course will enhance your knowledge of Occupational Therapy as well as medical terminology.
An occupational therapist’s job role is to help people of all ages overcome the effects of disability caused by illness, ageing or accident so that they can carry out everyday tasks or occupations. An occupational therapist will consider all of the patient’s needs – physical, psychological, social and environmental.
Your 6 weeks will consist of:
• Intro to Allied Health Assistance and occupational therapy, plus how to communicate and work in health and community services
• The main human body systems and how they apply to occupational therapy
• The skills to understand and apply medical terminology within occupational therapy
• How to assist in the rehabilitation of clients including medical terminology
• How to work with diverse people including medical terminology (OT) practice
• Job Ready Skills
While this course is developed around a 6 week delivery time-frame, it is solely online and you can work at your own pace.
