HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments

This nationally accredited unit provides the skills and knowledge required to comply with infection control regulations, standards, guidelines, policies and procedures. It enables students to identify, manage and control infection risks to clients, operators and themselves in accordance with the Public Health (Infection Control for Personal Appearances Services) Regulation 2016. Students learn about infection prevention practices and risk measures, how to monitor and maintain cleanliness, clean and sterilise equipment, and maintain personal protection.
As mandated by State and local council legislation, this is a prerequisite for those wanting to work in the following occupations:
• Tattooing
• Body piercing
• Beauty Therapy
• Cosmetic Tattooing
• Laser services including:
◦ Hair removal
◦ Skin rejuvenation
◦ Tattoo removal
◦ Superficial vascular lesions
◦ Superficial pigmented lesions
Following successful completion of this Unit of Competency, you will receive a Statement of Attainment for: HLTINF005 Maintain infection prevention for skin penetration treatments. This course meets the requirements for AHPRA 10 hours CPD when applied accordingly to relevant AHPRA guidelines.
